Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments. NB: candidates need to be physically capable of placing a person into the recovery position and carrying out CPR as this is a requirement of completing the course.
Course content
The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid, recognition and treatment, covering the following:
Health and safety (first aid) regulations
Managing an incident
The priorities of first aid
Treatment of an unconscious casualty
Resuscitation
Shock, choking, seizures and bleeding
Common workplace injuries
Course Duration 1 day
Training Approach
The training will be carried out using both power point presentation and practical sessions.
Candidates will receive a copy of the manual Emergency First Aid Made Easy.
Assessment
Continuous assessment by trainer/assessor and a multiple- choice quiz at the conclusion of training
Venue Fife Training Services or at a venue of your choice
Certification
On successful completion of the course and assessment a Fife Training Services Emergency First Aid at Work certificate will be issued (FAIB approved)
