3-day First Aid at Work
This course covers the essential skills and knowledge required for First Aiders in the workplace including those which present substantial health and safety risks. No previous first aid knowledge is necessary.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in larger, higher risk working environments or those who lead or manage First Aid. NB: candidates need to be physically capable of placing a person into the recovery position and carrying out CPR as this is a requirement of completing the course.
Course content
The content of this course provides lifesaving first aid, recognition and treatment, covering the following:
Health and safety (first aid) regulations
Managing an incident
The priorities of first aid
Treatment of an unconscious casualty
Resuscitation
Heart attacks and cardiac arrest
Shock, choking, seizures and bleeding
Common workplace injuries
Fracture and dislocation
Head and spinal injuries
Diabetes and sepsis
