Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion, our certified Instructors will master:

Trainee Specifications:

Ideal for individuals with minimal instructional experience, but a desire to train, test, and certify operators to recognised standards. Candidates should be presentable, articulate, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of industrial Lift Truck operation experience, possess an Accredited Certificate of training within 36 months of the course start date, and hold a current operator's test certificate of "basic operating skills" for the designated lift truck type.

Course Administration:

Introduction: Course overview, registration, and distribution of training programs.

Closure: Test results explanation, certificate issuance, and distribution of training literature.

End of Course Questionnaire:** Feedback for continuous improvement.

Course Content:

Practical Skills Test: Familiarisation with the machine and confirmation of operating ability.

Safety Compliance: Understanding HSWA 1974, PUWER, LOLER, and current training standards.

Principles of Instruction: Thorough preparation, correct presentation methods, and effective confirmation.

Job Analysis: Task analysis, training needs identification, objective setting, and lesson plan preparation.

Practical Exercises: Conducting practical lessons and classroom periods with instructor guidance.

Visual Aids: Selection, preparation, and effective use during instruction.

Classroom Lessons: Preparation, planning, and delivery with feedback.

Assessment and Report Writing: Evaluating trainee progress, practical skills test construction, and report writing.

Examination:

Candidates undergo a comprehensive examination covering practical operating ability, associated knowledge exams, practical instructional ability lessons, classroom lessons, and a report writing exercise.

Certification:

Successful candidates earn a coveted place on the AITT 'Lift Truck Operator Instructor Register' for a rewarding 5-year period.
